Job Requirements

  • BS or BA degree
  • 1-3 years of event coordination or similar experience
  • Experience in higher education or conference event planning preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple events
  • Basic budgeting knowledge
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in event planning software or tools preferred
  • Ability to remain composed under pressure

  • Knowledge of kosher food policy adherence

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree
  • Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Food and Beverage, or Business Administration preferred
  • 1-3 years of event coordinator or similar experience
  • Experience supporting event planning or logistics in higher education or conference settings preferred
  • Strong communication skills including listening, speaking, and writing
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong coordination skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
  • Ability to create and follow event plans and timelines
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and cost considerations

Job Duties

  • Coordinate event scheduling in designated campus venues
  • Support event planning and execution by managing logistics from set-up through close-out
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Student Involvement, Development and Alumni Operations, Deans, and Provost Offices
  • Develop customized room diagrams with event hosts to support event flow and program needs
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with university stakeholders and approved external vendors
  • Work with Event Services Set-Up Technician to ensure accurate and timely event set-ups
  • Provide event-related information for staffing needs and assist with monitoring temporary labor usage
  • Assist with event coordination and provide recommendations on venues and approved vendors
  • Coordinate entertainment or speakers when requested
  • Ensure all food served adheres to Touro University Kosher Food Policy
  • Support event registration and check-in logistics
  • Coordinate with temporary support staff, student workers, or volunteers during events without supervisory authority
  • Ensure events stay within allocated budgets
  • Monitor and inventory supplies for routine reporting
  • Provide on-site event presence and assist with problem solving during events
  • Contribute creative ideas for décor, layouts, and thematic elements
  • Assist with event communications, marketing, and advertising when required
