Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in event coordination, hospitality, customer service, recreation, or related field
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or similar populations preferred
  • Possess a valid Texas driver’s license and maintain a good driving record
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request
  • Pass all pre-employment background checks including criminal history and employee misconduct
  • Pass pre-employment and random drug screens
  • Maintain current licenses and certifications required for the position such as First Aid, CPR, and Emergency Behavior Intervention
  • Knowledge of abuse, neglect, and exploitation reporting procedures
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as assigned
  • Able to maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
  • Effective teaching and mentoring abilities
  • Computer literacy
  • Ready to participate constructively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of human growth and development patterns
  • Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
  • Computer literacy for assigned tasks

Job Duties

  • Coordinate logistics, schedules, and set-up for resident events and campus-wide programs
  • Provide planning support and execution assistance for evening and weekend events as assigned
  • Manage Mehling Center rental inquiries, booking process, contracts, and event coordination
  • Serve as on-site point of contact for rental clients and event partners
  • Ensure facility readiness, hospitality standards, and positive guest experience
  • Communicate event details and logistics with Facilities, Residential, and Administrative teams
  • Maintain event calendars and scheduling systems
  • Assist with preparing supply kits, materials, and checklists for activities
  • Support volunteer coordination and hospitality needs for events
  • Maintain accurate records related to events, rentals, and attendance
  • Ensure safety, inclusion, and positive resident experiences in activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned
