Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years experience in event coordination, hospitality, customer service, recreation, or related field
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or similar populations preferred
  • Must maintain current licenses and certificates including Administrator's License, First Aid, CPR, Emergency Behavior Intervention as required
  • Possess a valid Texas drivers' license and have a good driving record
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status
  • Pass all pre-employment background checks including Criminal History, Employee Misconduct, Nurse's Aide Registry, driving check
  • Pass pre-employment and random drug screens
  • Knowledge of indicators of abuse, neglect, and exploitation and appropriate reporting procedures
  • Ability to be firm, flexible, and patient with clients
  • Ability to manage behavioral interventions appropriately
  • Apply preventive and de-escalation techniques in crisis intervention
  • Communicate effectively in both written and oral communication
  • Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development patterns
  • Plan and prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Administer first aid and CPR if necessary
  • Work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Maintain computer literacy
  • Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Communicate promptly with management regarding client needs and problems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Residential Services and Day Habilitation policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral communication
  • Knowledge of normal patterns of human growth and development
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain professional composure and emotional control
  • Valid Texas drivers' license with a good driving record

Job Duties

  • Coordinate logistics, schedules, and set-up for resident events and campus-wide programs
  • Provide planning support and execution assistance for evening and weekend events
  • Manage Mehling Center rental inquiries, booking process, contracts, and event coordination
  • Serve as on-site point of contact for rental clients and event partners
  • Ensure facility readiness, hospitality standards, and positive guest experience
  • Communicate event details and logistics with Facilities, Residential, and Administrative teams
  • Maintain event calendars and scheduling systems
