Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience working with children and children’s events
  • retail or customer service experience
  • ability to stand for long periods of time
  • ability to lift heavy boxes and use ladders
  • ability to move throughout the store
  • ability to handle job stress and interact effectively with others
  • good communication skills
  • must be able to safely perform physical tasks including bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching
  • willingness to work nights, weekends, and early mornings
  • meet federal, state, and local legal requirements for employment in the U.S.

Job Duties

  • Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events
  • engage with clients of all ages by creating an environment of fun and creativity
  • demonstrate and instruct party participants in craft projects and activities such as face painting
  • facilitate and implement party add-ons like goody bags and balloons to company standards
  • communicate event details with clients and store team members
  • complete administrative tasks including answering emails, making phone calls, and paperwork
  • adjust event plans based on client feedback
  • create backup or emergency plans for events
  • ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events
  • uphold company cleanliness and safety standards and handle event setup and cleanup
  • help customers shop and locate products
  • provide fast and friendly checkout experience
  • engage customers on benefits of rewards programs and private label credit cards and complete enrollments
  • educate customers on Voice of Customer (VOC) surveys
  • assist with omni channel processes including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS)
  • participate in truck unload, stocking and planogram processes
  • complete merchandise recovery and maintenance
  • perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and associate set duties as assigned
  • support shrink and safety programs
  • adhere to standard operating procedures and company policies
  • interact respectfully with others and promote organizational values
  • cross trained in custom framing selling and production
  • participate in daily store cleanliness activities including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and restroom maintenance
  • perform other duties as assigned
