Job Requirements
- Associate degree in marketing, public relations, management or closely related field
- One year of related work experience
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods on rough surfaces
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Management or a closely related field
- One year of related work experience
- Valid Texas Driver's License
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong editing skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within the community
- Knowledge and preference of personal computer use
Job Duties
- Assist in the operation and coordination of special events
- Receive and process applications from public and private sectors
- Coordinate all aspects of assigned special events ensuring compliance with rules and regulations
- Coordinate public right-of-way safety, mobility and permitting for street functions, curb lanes, and parade routes
- Serve as liaison with other Mayor's Office of Special Events personnel and city departments
- Prepare written work plans, correspondence and evaluations related to events
- Represent the department on-site at events and civic, cultural, business meetings
- Maintain records, coordinate scheduling and generate reports using a personal computer
- Drive on city business
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Support the department's social media program
- Perform other duties as assigned
