Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in marketing, public relations, management or closely related field
  • one year of related work experience
  • two years of additional experience may substitute degree requirement
  • valid Texas driver’s license
  • willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • ability to stand and walk on rough surfaces
  • ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in marketing, public relations, management or closely related field

  • two years of additional directly related experience may substitute degree requirement
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • strong editing skills
  • knowledge of personal computer use
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the community

Job Duties

  • Assist in the operation and coordination of special events
  • receive and process applications from public and private sectors
  • coordinate all aspects of assigned events ensuring compliance with rules and regulations
  • manage public right-of-way safety, mobility and permitting for street functions and parade routes
  • serve as liaison with other office personnel and city departments
  • prepare written work plans, correspondence and evaluations
  • represent department on-site at events and meetings
  • maintain records, coordinate scheduling and generate reports
  • drive on city business
  • work nights, weekends and holidays
  • perform other duties as assigned
  • support social media program
  • driving is essential
