Job Requirements
- Four years of experience planning and coordinating community events and/or outreach campaigns
- high school diploma or GED
- postsecondary education may substitute for two years of experience
- ability to drive large vehicles (29 and 31 feet)
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- valid Arizona driver’s license upon hire
- flexibility to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to work independently at events
- ability to handle animals with unknown temperament
- standing and walking on uneven surfaces
- willingness to work outdoors in extreme heat
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- four years of experience planning and coordinating community events and/or outreach campaigns
- postsecondary education may substitute for two years of required experience on a year-for-year basis
- experience working in a veterinary clinic and humane society valued
- experience driving large vehicles (29 and 31 feet) valued
- bilingual in Spanish and English valued
Job Duties
- Manages the full offsite event schedule
- coordinates all logistics and activities for off-site adoption events
- staffs program-associated adoption events
- coordinates with local schools, churches, and community centers to host vaccine and spay/neuter clinics
- schedules needed services
- selects appropriate animals for events based on temperament and health
- ensures humane animal handling and sanitation at events
- develops, writes, and summarizes reports to track program success
- develops program materials for data collection and distribution
- contacts community members to assess spay/neuter needs
- compiles data to assess outreach needs
- maintains program inventory including collars, leashes, vaccines, and medical supplies
- conducts community assessments using shelter software to identify outreach priorities
