Job Requirements

  • Four years of experience planning and coordinating community events and/or outreach campaigns
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Postsecondary education may substitute for two years of the required experience
  • Ability to work all shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to drive large vehicles up to 31 feet
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license
  • Ability to work independently at events
  • Flexibility to work in outdoor conditions including extreme heat
  • Willingness to be exposed to animals of unknown temperament or behavior

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Four years of experience planning and coordinating community events and outreach campaigns
  • Postsecondary education may substitute for up to two years of experience on a year-for-year basis
  • Experience working in a veterinary clinic and a humane society is preferred
  • Experience driving large vehicles (29’ and 31’) is desirable
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is an asset

Job Duties

  • Manage the full offsite event schedule and coordinate all logistics for adoption events
  • Staff program-associated adoption events
  • Coordinate with local schools, churches, and community centers to host vaccine and spay/neuter clinics
  • Select appropriate animals for events based on temperament and health, ensuring their welfare
  • Develop and summarize reports tracking program success
  • Create program materials for data collection and community information distribution
  • Contact community members to assess spay and neuter needs and compile data for outreach planning
  • Maintain program inventory including collars, leashes, vaccines, microchips, chip scanner, treats, flea and tick medicine
  • Conduct community assessments using shelter software data to identify outreach hot spots
