Job Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years event, catering and conference experience in a luxury hotel property or resort

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years event, catering, and conference experience in a luxury hotel or resort
  • Demonstrated track record of team play, client loyalty, and sales
  • Proficient in spoken and written English
  • Strong mathematical and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and multitask effectively
  • Experience working with diverse clientele including national and international clients
  • Proficient in computer skills with moderate to advanced typing ability
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information
  • Experience in events and vendor coordination
  • Knowledge of food, beverage, audiovisual, telecommunications, and décor aspects of event planning

Job Duties

  • Achieve set monthly individual goals as well as department goals
  • Follow up on sales and proposals with Biltmore social clients and corporate groups
  • Assist the Creative Director with the production of events by coordinating vendors, researching information and products, maintaining event calendars and agendas, following up with billing, and attending required departmental meetings
  • Coordinate the set-up, load-in and strike of vendors regarding event décor and entertainment
  • Systemize files, documents, and contracts of the department
  • Generate reports with the Creative Director for security vendor sign-in, BED BEO’s, accounts receivable and payable, commissions, and financial forecasts
  • Oversee implementation of the Wedding Planner incentive program, tracking approved individuals and monitoring the rewards system
  • Maintain competitive rates, prices, and minimums to ensure maximum profitability for the hotel
  • Continuously acquire new accounts and solidify relationships through sales visits, client entertainment, agency receptions, site inspections, and follow-up
  • Develop creative ideas to maximize revenues and client satisfaction
  • Maintain knowledge in food, beverage, set-up, audiovisual, telecommunications, and décor
  • Conduct pre-event and post-event meetings with clients
  • Understand operations of banquet, culinary, front desk, concierge, reservations, and housekeeping departments
