Job Requirements

  • high school education required
  • previous catering, convention services, meeting planning experience preferred
  • one plus years experience in face to face customer service role required
  • ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems
  • ability to work cohesively with coworkers within and outside department
  • ability to think clearly, quickly and make concise decisions
  • ability to work well under pressure dealing with many guest requests or questions
  • developed computer proficiencies, Delphi experience a plus
  • strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and multitask in fast paced environment
  • ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining calm and welcoming demeanor
  • customer service oriented with desire to create memorable guest experiences
  • ability to use office equipment including calculators, photocopiers and facsimile machines
  • must possess excellent telephone etiquette skills
  • move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance
  • stand, walk or sit for an extended period or entire work shift
  • requires repetitive motion including using telephone and computer for extended periods
  • must be able to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • previous catering, convention services, meeting planning experience preferred
  • operations or administrative experience in hotels with banquet operation knowledge preferred
  • at least one year experience in a face to face customer service role required
  • high school education required, college degree preferred
  • ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English verbally and in writing
  • ability to accurately and efficiently input information into computer systems
  • ability to work cohesively with coworkers within and outside department
  • ability to think clearly and quickly and make concise decisions

Job Duties

  • assist convention services and catering managers as the onsite liaison between the meeting planner and operational departments
  • communicate with other event concierge team and managers to ensure seamless experience
  • basic knowledge of hotel departments and purpose in fulfilling guests’ needs
  • manage and assist all aspects of hotel events including day to day coordination
  • be available during peak times to assist with directionals
  • ensure arrangements meet specifications and create memorable experiences during meetings and conferences
  • proactively resolve problems and keep clients informed about event status
  • multitask and prioritize multiple requests and information
  • utilize Delphi software for generating necessary documents and changes
  • maintain detailed knowledge of hotel meeting space, group dynamics and event details
  • attend daily banquet event order meetings and weekly resume meetings
  • recommend special outside services when required
  • coordinate and attend pre-convention meetings prior to conferences
  • undertake special projects as assigned by department manager
