Job Description

Omni Fort Lauderdale Hotel is set to become a premier destination in South Florida upon its opening in Fall 2025. This new 29-story luxury hotel will be located at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd and directly connected to the Broward County Convention Center. Omni Fort Lauderdale will provide guests and event attendees with more than 120,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including a grand ballroom, junior ballroom, 25 breakout rooms, and pre-function meeting areas, all offering stunning waterfront views. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a related customer service or hospitality role
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
  • Ability to move, lift, and carry objects up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to use telephone and computer repetitively for long durations
  • Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Must adhere to Omni Hotels & Resorts policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar position preferred
  • Delphi or equivalent training
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of hotel event and reservation systems
  • Familiarity with South Florida local attractions and transportation
  • Proficiency in using hotel software such as Opera, GoConcierge, Meeting Matrix, Synergy, Microsoft Office, Kronos, and Birchstreet

Job Duties

  • Serve as a resource and advocate for all meeting planners and in-house guests
  • Direct guests to their designated meeting rooms and provide directional assistance
  • Stay alert and attentive to guests' needs while representing the hotel image
  • Present a friendly attitude with excellent listening skills and helpfulness
  • Obtain and utilize daily event information such as reader boards, event sheets, and group resumes
  • Maintain confidentiality of group information like BEOs, pricing, and guest room numbers
  • Respond promptly to guest and meeting planner needs
  • Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction with problem resolution
  • Communicate necessary information to hotel departments timely and accurately
  • Provide daily reports on guest service issues
  • Inform guests about meeting room benefits and available services
  • Be knowledgeable about local attractions and provide directions
  • Promote reservations and visits to hotel outlets through suggestive selling
  • Adhere to hotel fire safety procedures and fire routes
