Job Requirements
- BA/BS degree in hospitality management, business administration, marketing, or related field
- Five years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid Class D driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings as required
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with event management software and office tools
- Ability to lead and supervise diverse teams
- Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- BA/BS in hospitality management, business administration, marketing, or a closely related field
- Five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage event logistics and client relationships
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Competence in problem-solving and decision-making
- Knowledge of fair employment laws and practices
Job Duties
- Serve as the primary on-site host for events and client interactions
- Build strong relationships with clients from inquiry through event execution
- Ensure guests feel welcomed and supported
- Inspect facilities to ensure conformance with client requirements
- Serve as liaison to the Director of Development/Event Center during events
- Receive and resolve complaints from clients, public, participants, and staff
- Coordinate logistics with operations staff, temp staff, vendors, and partners
- Lead day-of-event execution and problem-solving
- Direct and support temp staff during events
- Meet with sponsors and organizing committees to plan event scope and format
- Establish and monitor event budgets
- Arrange availability of audio-visual equipment, transportation, displays, and other event needs
- Ensure complete event clean-up and facility reset after each event
- Serve as initial point of contact for inquiries before transitioning to the Director
- Support marketing initiatives and promotional efforts
- Collaborate with tourism and community partners
- Assist in the design and implementation of event publicity and sponsorship promotion efforts
- Complete pre- and post-event reports and operational feedback
- Supervise part-time employee, temp staff, vendor staff, and volunteers
- Ensure compliance with fair and non-discriminatory employment practices
- Define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions for decision making
- Originate new techniques or develop new information related to event management
