Job Description

The University of Oregon's Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) department serves as a critical bridge between the university and regional communities, facilitating lifelong learning and professional development beyond traditional academic settings. CPE collaborates with various UO schools, colleges, selected vendors, and national credentialing associations to provide diverse educational programs. These programs reach nearly 5,000 participants annually, offering professional development, enrichment courses, and community engagement activities for individuals who do not need to be admitted students to participate. Job Requirements

  • two years of general clerical experience, with at least one year including typing or word processing or document generation
  • OR an associate's degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology
  • OR graduation from a private business school with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience
  • college courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals
  • experience training and organizing others
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under frequent interruptions

Job Duties

  • support Exhibit Managers in planning and executing multiple conferences and exhibitions from inception to completion
  • assist in the maintenance of event registration systems and websites in collaboration with the IT team
  • respond to exhibitor and attendee inquiries
  • manage escalation protocols
  • lead student and temporary staff in providing high-quality service
  • facilitate exhibitor applications, booth placements, and payments
  • monitor data accuracy and follow up on outstanding balances
  • collaborate on event marketing campaigns
  • lead student teams to execute outreach efforts
  • represent the Exhibits Team at national events
  • ensure seamless on-site operations and effective team coordination
