Job Requirements
- Completion of a master’s degree in the field assigned to teach or a bachelor’s degree in a hospitality-related discipline plus substantial professional experience
- Professional experience should be current at the time of hire and substantial in duration and responsibility
- Experience normally no less than ten consecutive years with increasing responsibility and supervisory roles
- Ability to teach assigned classes in person on campus upon hire
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Ability to infuse technology effectively into coursework
- Availability for student consultation
Job Qualifications
- Completion of a master’s degree in the field assigned to teach or a bachelor’s degree in a hospitality-related discipline with current professional experience
- Substantial professional experience typically no less than ten consecutive years with increasing levels of responsibility and supervisory experience
- Nationally recognized certificates and licenses relevant to the field preferred such as CMP, CMM, CGMP
- Ability to adapt and learn new modes of instruction
- Sensitivity to the educational needs of a diverse student population
Job Duties
- Teach 3+ credit hours in subject areas such as wedding planning, event industry, event project management, event planning, event support systems, and special event production
- Work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff
- Demonstrate ability to effectively infuse technology into coursework
- Be available for consultation with students
- Prepare course materials and lesson plans
- Grade student work and provide feedback in a timely manner
- Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed
