Job Requirements

  • Completion of a master’s degree in the field assigned to teach or a bachelor’s degree in a hospitality-related discipline plus substantial professional experience
  • Professional experience should be current at the time of hire and substantial in duration and responsibility
  • Experience normally no less than ten consecutive years with increasing responsibility and supervisory roles
  • Ability to teach assigned classes in person on campus upon hire
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Ability to infuse technology effectively into coursework
  • Availability for student consultation

Job Qualifications

  • Completion of a master’s degree in the field assigned to teach or a bachelor’s degree in a hospitality-related discipline with current professional experience
  • Substantial professional experience typically no less than ten consecutive years with increasing levels of responsibility and supervisory experience
  • Nationally recognized certificates and licenses relevant to the field preferred such as CMP, CMM, CGMP
  • Ability to adapt and learn new modes of instruction
  • Sensitivity to the educational needs of a diverse student population

Job Duties

  • Teach 3+ credit hours in subject areas such as wedding planning, event industry, event project management, event planning, event support systems, and special event production
  • Work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively infuse technology into coursework
  • Be available for consultation with students
  • Prepare course materials and lesson plans
  • Grade student work and provide feedback in a timely manner
  • Provide online or in-person academic support to students as needed
