Job Requirements

  • Completion of master's degree in the teaching field or bachelor's degree in hospitality-related discipline plus substantial professional experience
  • minimum ten years of progressive responsibility and supervisory experience
  • experience current at time of hire
  • willingness to teach in person
  • sensitivity to diverse educational needs
  • ability to use technology in instruction

Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree in the field of teaching or bachelor's degree in hospitality-related discipline with substantial professional experience
  • experience teaching diverse student populations
  • ability to deliver instruction in person or online
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • willingness to adapt to new instructional modes
  • nationally recognized certificates and licenses relevant to hospitality preferred

Job Duties

  • Teach 3 plus credit hours in areas such as wedding planning, event industry, event project management, event planning, event support systems, and special event production
  • work and interact with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff
  • effectively infuse technology into coursework
  • be available for consultation with students
  • prepare course materials and lesson plans
  • grade student work and provide timely feedback
  • deliver instruction consistent with course syllabi and department policies
