Job Description
The City of Glendale Parks and Recreation Department is a vital part of the city's commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its residents through excellent public spaces and recreational programming. The department is organized into two primary divisions: the Parks Division and the Recreation Division. The Parks Division is responsible for managing and maintaining all public parks, open spaces, trails, storm water retention basins, landscaping at municipal facilities, and the Thunderbird Conservation Park. Job Requirements
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds
- must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time
- must successfully undergo drug and alcohol testing prior to employment and be subject to ongoing testing
- must pass a post-offer physical assessment
- availability to work any day of the week including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- ability to work up to 19 hours per week as scheduled
Job Qualifications
- No previous work experience required
- banquet setup or audio-visual experience a plus
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying
Job Duties
- Participate in the banquet room setup and breakdown for various meetings and events
- assist with audio visual set up and break down when necessary
- dust and polish furniture and woodwork
- vacuum carpets, sweep floors, and move furniture when necessary
- empty, clean, and line waste receptacles
- wash windows and walls
- maintain and repair equipment
- perform various janitorial duties
- continuously clean facility inside and out including public spaces, hallways, offices, restrooms, entryways, outdoor patios, and windows
- demonstrate ability to take instruction and promote a team environment
- perform other functions as requested
- maintain a professional and friendly appearance at all times
