Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • must have at least one-year work experience in a clinical setting or equivalent customer service role
  • must have exceptional customer service skills
  • familiarity with insurance benefits is a plus
  • must be computer literate with basic knowledge of MS Office products and general office machines
  • must have the ability to multi-task work in a fast-paced work environment and demonstrate team cooperation
  • other duties to be assigned as necessary and may vary as directed by supervisor or company

Job Duties

  • Greets customers in a polite prompt and helpful manner
  • provides necessary instruction or directions to patients
  • informs appropriate department or person of customer arrival
  • updates patient information including insurance cards driver's license authorizations and referrals
  • administers tablets for completion of personal health information privacy policies and financial policies
  • collects co-payments deductibles and outstanding balances such as out-of-pocket expenses
  • gives detailed explanation of benefits and financial agreements
  • answers phones in a pleasant manner and deals with customer needs expeditiously
  • schedules follow-up appointments as required by physician teams
  • enters charges into computer system
  • prints charge tickets and necessary paperwork for next day clinic
  • balances daily collections with time of service payment summary report and prepares deposit slip
  • carries out appropriate actions related to hold and practice buckets daily
  • accepts deliveries logs and distributes to appropriate parties
