Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in event management
  • availability to work evenings and weekends during academic year
  • ability to work late hours including Fridays and Saturdays
  • must be available for Spring Weekend and Senior Week
  • successful completion of criminal background check
  • education verification satisfactory to employer

Job Qualifications

  • event planning and management experience
  • demonstrated experience with events involving alcohol
  • experience preferably in a college environment
  • ability to work Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday evenings and weekend days during academic year
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong organizational skills
  • conflict resolution abilities
  • ability to relate to students and understand the value of student-run events

Job Duties

  • coordinate overall student activities and events during evenings and weekends
  • provide on-site support and advice to student event organizers
  • collaborate with student managers to ensure events run smoothly and safely
  • manage departmental facilities during scheduled events
  • respond to event-related conflicts and resolve issues
  • enforce event policies related to safety and alcohol use
  • participate in occasional daytime meetings and trainings
