Job Requirements

  • six months Emergency Medical Technician experience preferred
  • or six months Emergency Department Technician experience
  • or completion of the Renown Emergency Medic Intern Program
  • must possess or obtain within 90 days adequate computer skills for online learning and job requirements
  • current State of Nevada and National Registry of EMT Basic certification required upon hire and must be active within 90 days
  • current BLS certification required

Job Qualifications

  • working-level knowledge of the English language including reading, writing, and speaking
  • current State of Nevada and National Registry of EMT Basic certification
  • current BLS certification by American Heart Association standards
  • completion of trauma pathway in cost center 200326
  • successful completion of trauma technician skills checklist
  • demonstrated knowledge and skills within established competencies and scope of practice
  • effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • perform various technical procedures within established competencies and scope of practice
  • stock the Emergency Department with required supplies, equipment, and instrumentation
  • perform clerical duties and act as unit receptionist
  • coordinate unit and patient schedules and activities
  • maintain an orderly and efficient nurse's station
  • communicate effectively with supervisors, physicians, and ancillary staff
  • handle equipment care, report malfunctioning equipment
