Job Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, add, subtract and follow oral or basic written instructions
  • Minimum six months experience operating plant or automotive equipment
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances
  • Ability to obtain required badge access including Customs Border Patrol within six months
  • Availability to work varied shifts including weekends, holidays and rotational shifts
  • May require valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License
  • Ability to stoop, bend, lift up to 30 pounds and walk on rough surfaces
  • Willingness to work outdoors in heat, cold, moisture and air pollution
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test and physical examination
  • Compliance with City of Houston driving policies when operating vehicles

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • Six months of experience operating plant or automotive equipment
  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License preferred
  • Experience in pavement, paint or grounds maintenance related to TXDOT or FAR 139
  • Knowledge of FAR Part 139 regulations and airport maintenance standards
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently
  • Leadership experience coordinating crews and monitoring personnel
  • Industry certifications in heavy equipment operation, OSHA safety, facility management (IFMA), roadway maintenance (TXDOT), or airport maintenance (ACI) preferred

Job Duties

  • Operate heavy equipment and trucks for material transport and job sites
  • Perform manual tasks including lawn care, roofing, painting, plumbing, and FOD removal
  • Maintain FAR 139 and TXDOT compliant paved surfaces using various machinery
  • Inspect, clean, and service equipment, vehicles, tools and facilities
  • Provide communication and guidance to supervisory staff for coordination
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain safety compliance at work sites
  • Prepare and maintain detailed reports, forms and records
  • Act as lead for crews, coordinate and monitor work assignments and personnel
  • Utilize efficient methods for maintenance on asphalt and concrete surfaces
  • Investigate complaints and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities
