Job Requirements
- valid driver’s license at time of application
- two years of experience operating heavy and specialized construction or maintenance equipment
- legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
- ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
- ability to lift up to 90 pounds or 150 pounds with assistance
- ability to work holidays, overtime, and be on call as needed
- pass criminal history records check and TSA security threat assessment
- pass physical exam including drug screening
- willingness to complete FAA and TSA required trainings and obtain required licenses
- ability to hear and communicate over telephone and radio
- sufficient vision to distinguish colors and brightness
- experience or ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and walking on varied surfaces
Job Qualifications
- two years of experience operating heavy and specialized equipment in construction or maintenance
- ability to learn and apply FAA regulations, airport certification manual and advisory circulars
- ability to achieve FAA AOA and Movement Area Driver training and certification
- ability to achieve TSA Airport Security Access training and certification
- effective communication skills
- valid driver’s license
- ability to obtain Kansas Class A CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements within 180 days
- ability to obtain Commercial Applicator’s License and Backflow Prevention Tester License
Job Duties
- operate heavy and specialized airport equipment including tractors, backhoes, motor graders, street sweepers and dump-trucks
- operate specialized snow and ice removal equipment in Air Operations Areas and Movement Areas
- perform mowing, pavement marking and maintenance in designated airport areas
- inspect, service, and perform preventive maintenance on equipment and irrigation systems
- perform planting, pruning, tree removal and related landscaping tasks
- apply herbicides and pesticides safely
- conduct mechanical maintenance and inspections on equipment and tools
