Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, or related field
  • Minimum eight to ten years relevant experience in program management, marketing, direct sales, or sales management
  • Ability to analyze and act on leading and lagging indicators
  • Knowledge of construction business principles
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to represent the company positively
  • General knowledge of field sales operations
  • Industry and product knowledge
  • Willingness to travel up to 35 percent

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, marketing, or related field
  • MBA preferred
  • Minimum of eight to ten years experience in program management, marketing, direct sales, or sales management within a channel or industrial product distribution organization
  • Ability to generate, communicate, and lead effective actions based on analysis of various indicators
  • Possess construction business principles with ability to lead and influence diverse teams
  • Competent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to represent Johnson Controls positively and communicate with varying technical or managerial levels
  • General operational knowledge of field sales procedures
  • Knowledge of industry, company products, and services
  • Ability to travel up to 35 percent

Job Duties

  • Lead profitable growth of the HVAC equipment business secured and executed through agent partnerships
  • Ensure agent partners actively promote the entire Johnson Controls equipment portfolio in support of the overall equipment sales plan
  • Provide HVAC equipment leadership to enhance the relationship and partnership between area and local market sales teams and independent equipment sales agents
  • Lead the development and deployment of sales and operations processes required to execute business through independent agent partners, and assist with the development of appropriate systems, tools, and training
  • Ensure implementation of and adherence to Johnson Controls standard operating procedures for pipeline management, forecasting, project reviews, and delegation of authority for both sales and operations
  • Lead identification, development, and cadences around performance improvement activities relative to independent equipment sales agents
  • Manage operational management of independent sales agent partners including contract administration, development, maintenance, and enforcement
  • Act as an internal advocate for independent sales agent business partners and represent Johnson Controls in relevant industry associations
  • Develop and manage expense budgets to maximize results and productivity
