Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED certification
  • Experience in hotel or food and beverage industry preferred
  • Must be legal age to serve alcohol
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit as required
  • Ability to work long hours including nights and weekends
  • Physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • Ability to stand throughout entire shifts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under high pressure
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Must follow safety and hygiene standards
  • Ability to handle financial transactions
  • Attend training and meetings as scheduled

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Regular attendance in compliance with scheduling needs
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • Comply with all hotel standards and regulations
  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests and team members
  • Describe menu items, methods of preparation and prices to guests
  • Accommodate special requests in the kitchen
  • Upsell menu items and specials
  • Serve menu items promptly and politely
  • Perform pre- and post-shift side work including stocking and making coffee
  • Forward payments to cashier and return correct change to guests
  • Adhere to loss prevention standards
  • Create drinks for new menus
  • Assist Greeter/Cashier and busperson as needed
  • Respond quickly to guest requests
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of restaurant organization and job functions
  • Use suggestive selling techniques
  • Pre-bus tables and remove soiled dishes
  • Operate hotel computer systems
  • Comply with safety standards
  • Perform cashiering functions and end of shift paperwork
  • Ensure tables and side stations are stocked and clean
  • Keep beverages replenished
  • Properly breakdown trays of soiled dishes and linen
  • Check with supervisor before leaving
  • Answer telephone according to procedure
  • Familiar with fire exits and safety procedures
  • Know how to use fire extinguishers
  • Collect payment and deliver food and beverage orders
  • Adhere to alcohol awareness and sanitation standards
  • Perform other duties as requested
  • Attend meetings and training
