Job Requirements

  • Must demonstrate skill and control of cleaning equipment after training
  • Must be able to use chemicals and equipment properly to achieve desired cleaning results
  • Must be able to perform 10 Step Clean and isolation clean patient rooms
  • Must be able to cycle clean OR and L&D suites and terminal clean areas as needed
  • Must be able to use Bed Tracking System
  • Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills
  • Must have a neat personal appearance
  • Must stand, walk, and stoop frequently
  • Must be able to push, pull, and control cleaning equipment and materials up to 150 pounds
  • Must move large trash objects and containers

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. preferred
  • Ability to understand written English and oral instructions
  • Prior cleaning experience helpful but not essential
  • Demonstrated skills in using cleaning equipment and chemicals
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques including isolation and terminal cleaning
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Neat personal appearance

Job Duties

  • Perform 10 Step Cleaning
  • Vacuum carpeted areas
  • Dry and wet mop hard floors
  • Clean and polish metal surfaces
  • Perform discharge cleaning and utilize Bed Tracking System
  • Spot clean windows
  • Clean water fountains
  • Clean public telephones
  • Clean all restrooms
  • Empty waste receptacles and remove waste
  • Maintain and organize supply storage area
  • Clean upholstered furniture
  • Clean emergency spills and floods
  • Maintain and operate floor burnishers
  • Wash walls and ceilings
  • Perform special projects such as hanging drapes and cubicle curtains
  • Clean and maintain equipment
  • Report deficiencies in equipment, furniture, or fixtures
  • Sign in and out pagers, keys, and equipment
  • Clean rolling stock, hospital equipment, and related items
  • Ensure cleanliness and neat appearance of assigned area
  • Return all soiled mops to designated areas
  • Perform related duties as assigned
