- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- up to one month of related experience acceptable
- ability to follow written and oral instructions in English
- physical ability to perform cleaning duties
- availability to work assigned shift hours

- willingness to report hazards and follow safety protocols

- knowledge of cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- commitment to safety and compliance with hospital policies
- good physical stamina and ability to move furniture and supplies
- basic understanding of sanitation and infection control principles
- strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- willingness to work evening and night shifts including weekends and holidays
Job Duties
- Perform cleaning duties including dusting of mirrors and glass
- empty all trash containers
- shine brass fixtures
- strip floors of old wax and renew finish
- clean screens, radiators, drinking fountains, and telephones
- assure towel and toilet dispensers are filled
- keep stairs and stairwells dusted and free of debris
- move furniture, beds, and supplies as required
- pick up and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
- wash floors in corridors, bathrooms, offices, lounges, bedrooms, and other assigned areas
- sweep and dust gym floors
- spray and buff floors
- assure wash tubs, sinks, and toilets are cleaned
- check for fire hazards and report problems
- maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas neat and orderly
- observe all hospital policies including safety and security
- perform other related duties as assigned
