Job Duties

  • Perform cleaning and sanitizing activities in designated areas including patient rooms, bathrooms, and common spaces throughout the health system facilities
  • maintain flooring care including cleaning, buffing, and applying floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors
  • vacuum, shampoo and extract carpets
  • use and maintain power equipment and hand tools such as buffers, auto brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture
  • provide waste collection and removal including biomedical waste, recycling, cleaning trash chutes and receptacles
  • mix and obtain cleaning solutions from dispensing systems
  • follow appropriate cleaning methods and use the correct solutions and equipment for different surfaces
  • restock cleaning supplies and various other items such as toilet paper, paper towels, and soap
  • carry out bed tracking tasks, as needed
  • report any maintenance or repair needs to management
