Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- ability to perform physical tasks including moving and transporting objects up to 60 pounds
- ability to work in patient care and office environments with exposure to dust, noise, odors and occasional infectious diseases
- availability to work flexible hours as required

- ability to follow oral or written instructions
- ability to perform simple arithmetic
- knowledge of recurrent work routines and procedures
- ability to operate non-complex equipment
- interpersonal skills for contact with patients, families and staff
Job Duties
- perform general housekeeping responsibilities such as moping, dusting, vacuuming, carpet shampooing and other related duties
- clean and polish sinks, tubs, mirrors and similar equipment
- replenish supplies of soap, towels, toilet paper and other dispensable items
- strip, buff and apply wax to floors in designated areas on a routine basis
- pick up trash and empty wastebaskets from and transport to designated location outside building
- clean waste receptacles
- clean and chemically disinfect walls, ceilings, windows, radiators and blinds in patient rooms, hallways and other areas
- move and arrange furniture/equipment in an orderly fashion
- set up required meeting and functional rooms
- maintain outside grounds during summer months and operate snow plow tractor for snow removal during winter months
- remove soiled bed linen from assigned areas
- make beds with fresh linen in prescribed manner at patient discharge
- perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab
