Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year of experience preferred
  • DOT HAZMAT certification required within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals and equipment
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Must demonstrate competency through assessments and evaluations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • One year of experience preferred
  • DOT HAZMAT certification within 90 days of employment
  • Preferable state driver license
  • Demonstrated skills to safely perform job duties
  • Proficient in English speaking, reading, and writing
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Knowledge and safe use of housekeeping equipment and chemicals

Job Duties

  • Performs general and moderately complex cleaning tasks in assigned specialty areas
  • Maintains environmental and infection control standards within policies and procedures
  • Follows AORN standards for operating room turnover and terminal cleaning
  • Uses floor maintenance equipment and chemicals safely
  • Handles hazardous materials for appropriate disposal
  • Sets up conference rooms and manages linen distribution and collection
  • Interacts professionally with patients, family, and staff promoting a positive work environment
