Job Requirements

  • Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays and during inclement weather
  • Compliance with HIPAA privacy standards

  • Willingness to follow detailed cleaning and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities required for the role
  • Willingness to comply with PPE and infection control protocols
  • Customer service orientation and professional communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical demands of the job including lifting, standing and reaching
  • Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment preferred
  • Additional licenses or certifications as required by the hiring department

Job Duties

  • Work with medical staff, ancillary professional staff, departmental service staff, patients, visitors and the general public using professionalism and customer satisfaction focus
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of patient information as per HIPAA guidelines
  • Perform cleaning activities in patient care areas, restrooms, specialized procedure rooms, public and office areas following infection control standards
  • Handle soiled linen, regular waste and medical waste using proper PPE and safety procedures
  • Deliver and stock clean linen, operate equipment safely and maintain cleanliness of tools
  • Follow directives from Environmental Services management team regarding work assignments and improvement areas
  • Report safety issues promptly and ensure compliance with hospital protocols and safety requirements
