Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two years of relevant experience preferred
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and use chemicals safely
- Capability to perform specialized cleaning tasks including terminal cleaning and UV light usage
- Understanding of infection control and hospital cleaning standards
- Capability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Availability to work full-time afternoon shifts including weekends
- Ability to work onsite and collaborate within a healthcare environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two years of relevant environmental services experience preferred
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and tools
- Knowledge of cleaning solutions, chemicals, and safety protocols
- Ability to perform specialized cleaning tasks including terminal cleaning and use of UV light technology
- Understanding of infection control practices and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high quality assurance standards
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and efficiently
- Completion of annual Respiratory Mask Fitting and recertification training mandatory
Job Duties
- Responsible for daily cleaning of patient rooms using accepted practices and procedures
- Supply patient rooms with paper products
- Perform discharge room cleaning following established procedures
- Clean assigned support service areas daily
- Demonstrate knowledge and efficient use of cleaning techniques, chemicals, equipment, and tools
- Provide preventative cleaning services according to Ten Step Interactive Cleaning and High-Profile Cleaning Procedures
- Perform terminal cleaning of walls, lights, ceilings, including use of UV light technology
- Promote positive image of Akron Children's Hospital through adherence to patient and guest relations standards
- Maintain high standards and achieve high quality assurance scores
- Assist other support service areas as needed to ensure operational efficiency
- Follow written and verbal instructions accurately and complete assigned duties
