Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general education diploma (ged)
  • valid driver's license (for positions at sutter maternity and surgery center)
  • auto insurance (for positions at sutter maternity and surgery center)
  • knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment including proper cleaning procedures and equipment
  • ability to interpret written, oral, or diagram instructions
  • written and verbal communication skills
  • well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • ability to operate basic environmental service equipment
  • ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy environment
  • ability to identify and resolve standard problems
  • willingness to work varied shifts including every weekend
  • legally authorized to work in the united states

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or general education diploma (ged)
  • knowledge of maintaining a sterile environment including proper cleaning procedures and various equipment
  • ability to interpret data and instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • written and verbal communication skills
  • well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • ability to operate mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers and dryers
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • problem-solving skills to identify and resolve standard problems
  • ability to build collaborative relationships with peers and staff

Job Duties

  • perform a variety of cleaning tasks to maintain patient rooms, offices, and hallways
  • transport equipment and handle room setups
  • remove trash and manage linen handling duties
  • distribute supplies to departments and maintain stock levels
  • adhere to all local, state, and federal safety and sanitization regulations
  • communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, patients, and hospital personnel
  • operate basic environmental service equipment including floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, washers, and dryers
