Job Requirements

  • None
  • Willingness to work part-time, 20 hours per week with varying hours
  • Ability to follow infection control procedures and use of PPE
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA
  • Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including lifting up to 25 lbs and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and during inclement weather
  • Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Additional licenses or certifications as required by the hiring department
  • Ability to acquire comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities related to healthcare environmental services
  • Effective communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and equipment operation

Job Duties

  • Work with medical and ancillary staff, patients, visitors, and the general public using professionalism focused on customer satisfaction
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of patient information according to HIPAA guidelines
  • Perform cleaning activities in healthcare settings including patient rooms, restrooms, procedure areas, public areas, and clinics
  • Follow infection control and PPE protocols when cleaning and handling soiled linen, regular, and medical waste
  • Deliver and stock clean linen, record linen usage using electronic devices
  • Operate equipment safely and maintain work areas in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Report safety issues promptly and assist in floor care processes and staff development as needed
