Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • additional license or certification requirements as determined by the hiring department
  • ability to master skills related to cleaning procedures, chemical use, equipment operation, and customer-focused communication
  • familiarity with infection control and PPE guidelines in healthcare settings

Job Duties

  • perform cleaning activities within a healthcare environment to ensure infection control guidelines are met
  • follow directives of the environmental services management team related to work assignments and areas needing improvement
  • maintain strict confidentiality and uphold patient privacy according to HIPAA guidelines
  • handle soiled linen, regular waste, and medical waste following safety and infection control precautions
  • operate electronic systems for linen usage tracking and departmental supply management
  • maintain and operate cleaning equipment safely and report safety concerns promptly
  • assist in floor care processes and maintain work areas inspection-ready according to regulatory standards
