Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- suitability for federal employment as determined by background investigation
- pass urinalysis drug screening
- selective service registration for males born after 12/31/1959
- complete online onboarding process with acceptable identification
- meet application requirements including submitting a resume limited to two pages
- serve a one-year probationary period
- willingness to receive annual influenza vaccination or obtain exemption
- ability to perform continuous walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
- ability to safely use heavy powered cleaning equipment
- comply with safety protocols to avoid injury and exposure to hazardous materials
- commitment to principles of the U.S. Constitution and federal service efficiency

Job Duties
- maintain cleanliness of VA facilities to support patient care experience
- perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, and polishing floors
- clean wards, patient rooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and other facility areas
- handle trash removal and manage spills promptly to ensure safety
- refill supplies such as toilet tissue and towel dispensers
- carry out assignments with minimal supervision while ensuring high standards
- operate powered cleaning equipment like industrial buffers and wall washers safely
