Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- physical capability to perform cleaning duties including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods
- knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment use
- attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- effective communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate, read and write in English
- basic familiarity with computers preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain assigned area in an aseptically clean and aesthetically pleasing manner
- remove soiled linen and waste from assigned area
- clean and maintain hard floor surfaces including dust mop, wet mop, strip, wax and polish
- clean and maintain carpeted floors including vacuum, shampoo and extract
- clean and sanitize fittings and furniture
- clean walls, ceilings and vents
- clean inside glass in assigned area
- follow appropriate security measures when cleaning medication rooms and refrigerators
- demonstrate knowledge of safe and proper use of housekeeping equipment
- handle cleaning chemicals safely and economically using protective equipment
- report damaged or dangerous equipment to supervisor
- assist with conference room setups
- complete job assignments efficiently and safely per scheduled requirements
- establish open communication with customers, co-workers and supervisors
- report unsafe conditions in work area
- participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
