Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • physical capability to perform cleaning duties including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods
  • knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment use
  • attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate, read and write in English
  • basic familiarity with computers preferred

Job Duties

  • Maintain assigned area in an aseptically clean and aesthetically pleasing manner
  • remove soiled linen and waste from assigned area
  • clean and maintain hard floor surfaces including dust mop, wet mop, strip, wax and polish
  • clean and maintain carpeted floors including vacuum, shampoo and extract
  • clean and sanitize fittings and furniture
  • clean walls, ceilings and vents
  • clean inside glass in assigned area
  • follow appropriate security measures when cleaning medication rooms and refrigerators
  • demonstrate knowledge of safe and proper use of housekeeping equipment
  • handle cleaning chemicals safely and economically using protective equipment
  • report damaged or dangerous equipment to supervisor
  • assist with conference room setups
  • complete job assignments efficiently and safely per scheduled requirements
  • establish open communication with customers, co-workers and supervisors
  • report unsafe conditions in work area
  • participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
