Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate, read and write in English
- Basic familiarity with computers preferred
- Ability to handle cleaning chemicals safely
- Ability to work scheduled hours and complete assignments efficiently
- Physical capability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and aseptic environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience in a healthcare or similar environment is an advantage
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Basic computer skills preferred
- Knowledge of safe handling and use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
Job Duties
- Maintain assigned area in an aseptically clean and aesthetically pleasing manner
- Remove soiled linen and waste from assigned area
- Clean and maintain hard floor surfaces including dust mop, wet mop, strip, wax and polish
- Clean and maintain carpeted floors including vacuum, shampoo and extract
- Clean and sanitize fittings and furniture
- Clean walls, ceilings and vents
- Clean inside glass in assigned area
- Follow appropriate security measures when cleaning medication rooms and refrigerators
- Demonstrate knowledge of safe and proper use of housekeeping equipment
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and economically using protective equipment
- Care for and maintain equipment and report damaged or dangerous equipment
- Assist with conference room setups as required
- Complete all job assignments per scheduled requirements efficiently and safely
- Communicate effectively, openly and respectfully with customers, co-workers and supervisors
- Report unsafe conditions found in work area to the appropriate supervisor
- Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings
