Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Some experience preferred
- Ability to speak fluent English
- Ability to read, write and understand simple instructions in English
- Completion of departmental training program within 30 days of employment
- Ability to use personal protective equipment correctly
- Ability to safely lift and handle materials
- Compliance with hospital policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Some experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Knowledge of infection prevention and cleaning protocols
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment including Ultra Violet Light devices
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow safety and PPE procedures
- Basic computer skills for documentation
Job Duties
- Perform the full range of restroom cleaning and patient room cleaning following established protocols
- Follow infection prevention procedures and use appropriate cleaning chemicals
- Maintain cleanliness of walls, doors, glass/windows, furniture, equipment, and floors using various cleaning techniques
- Properly remove and dispose of trash and linen according to waste stream guidelines
- Use personal protective equipment correctly and follow safety protocols
- Operate Ultra Violet Light equipment safely for enhanced infection control
- Greet and support staff members, patients, and visitors with a positive attitude
- Participate in team projects and performance improvement activities
- Document assignments completed accurately using Epic system
- Adjust to staff shortages and cover other areas as needed
