Job Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Suitable for federal employment confirmed by background investigation
  • Pass a drug screening prior to appointment
  • Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Complete online onboarding process with acceptable identification
  • Complete all application requirements
  • Serve a 1-year probationary period
  • Ability to work various tours of duty including mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to handle heavy cleaning equipment and perform physical tasks
  • Willingness to adhere to safety and health protocols including use of PPE
  • Commitment to improving federal government efficiency and upholding U.S. constitution
  • Willingness to submit necessary documents including a resume limited to two pages

Job Qualifications

  • No specific length of training and experience required
  • Must demonstrate knowledge, skills, and ability to perform cleaning tasks
  • Experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
  • Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as industrial buffers and vacuum cleaners
  • Ability to perform physical activities including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing

Job Duties

  • Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other areas
  • Sweep, mop, scrub (machine) floors, vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture
  • Empty waste baskets, clean light globes and Venetian blinds
  • Wash walls, windows and ceilings by climbing small ladders, refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers and move furniture
  • Carry out assignments with minimal supervision
