Job Requirements
- U.S. citizenship
- Suitable for federal employment confirmed by background investigation
- Pass a drug screening prior to appointment
- Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
- Complete online onboarding process with acceptable identification
- Complete all application requirements
- Serve a 1-year probationary period
- Ability to work various tours of duty including mornings, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to handle heavy cleaning equipment and perform physical tasks
- Willingness to adhere to safety and health protocols including use of PPE
- Commitment to improving federal government efficiency and upholding U.S. constitution
- Willingness to submit necessary documents including a resume limited to two pages
Job Qualifications
- No specific length of training and experience required
- Must demonstrate knowledge, skills, and ability to perform cleaning tasks
- Experience in housekeeping or custodial work preferred
- Ability to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
- Ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as industrial buffers and vacuum cleaners
- Ability to perform physical activities including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
Job Duties
- Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, shower rooms, and other areas
- Sweep, mop, scrub (machine) floors, vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture
- Empty waste baskets, clean light globes and Venetian blinds
- Wash walls, windows and ceilings by climbing small ladders, refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers and move furniture
- Carry out assignments with minimal supervision
