Job Requirements
- must be a U.S. citizen
- subject to a background and suitability investigation
- pre-employment physical required
- selective service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
- participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program
- serve a one-year probationary period
- occasional use of heavy powered cleaning equipment
- ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors
- use of PPE in some circumstances
- ability to avoid injury while working on ladders or using heavy equipment
Job Qualifications
- evidence of training or experience demonstrating ability to perform duties
- knowledge of janitorial and custodial procedures
- ability to operate cleaning machines and equipment
- attention to detail and safety awareness
- ability to work independently
- physical stamina to perform continuous walking, standing, kneeling, stooping, pulling and pushing
- ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment
Job Duties
- perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties
- clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and other areas
- sweep, mop, scrub floors, vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture
- empty waste baskets
- clean light globes and Venetian blinds
- wash walls, windows, and ceilings by climbing small ladders
- refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers
- move furniture
- carry out assignments with minimal supervision
