Job Requirements

  • must be a U.S. citizen
  • subject to a background and suitability investigation
  • pre-employment physical required
  • selective service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program
  • serve a one-year probationary period
  • occasional use of heavy powered cleaning equipment
  • ability to work indoors and occasionally outdoors
  • use of PPE in some circumstances
  • ability to avoid injury while working on ladders or using heavy equipment

Job Qualifications

  • evidence of training or experience demonstrating ability to perform duties
  • knowledge of janitorial and custodial procedures
  • ability to operate cleaning machines and equipment
  • attention to detail and safety awareness
  • ability to work independently
  • physical stamina to perform continuous walking, standing, kneeling, stooping, pulling and pushing
  • ability to follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment

Job Duties

  • perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties
  • clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and other areas
  • sweep, mop, scrub floors, vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture
  • empty waste baskets
  • clean light globes and Venetian blinds
  • wash walls, windows, and ceilings by climbing small ladders
  • refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers
  • move furniture
  • carry out assignments with minimal supervision
