Job Requirements

  • Previous environmental services or custodial experience
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow instructions
  • Some positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50-75 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist

Job Duties

  • Assigned to clean and disinfect surgical, procedural, and specialized areas such as sterile processing
  • Cleans and maintains various floors surfaces including carpet, wood, marble, vinyl, VCT, stone, tile, slate
  • Performs floor care using equipment such as ride-on, walk-behind, and manual operated machines for scrubbing, buffing, and polishing floors
  • Apply wax and other floor care products under the guidance of EVS leadership
  • Cleans, polishes furniture and fixtures in assigned areas and arranges furniture and/or equipment as directed
  • Dispose of biochemical waste in accordance with policy and procedures
  • Cleans floors with vacuums, dust mops, and/or wet mops
  • Collects and removes trash and recyclable items and deposits to designated area
  • Maintains security and confidentiality of areas by locking/unlocking doors and performing related functions
