Job Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Selective Service Registration required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Subject to background and security investigation
  • Pre-employment physical required
  • Completion of online onboarding
  • Must provide acceptable identification
  • Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program required
  • Must serve a 1-year probationary period
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
  • Ability to safely use heavy powered cleaning equipment
  • Willingness to work day and evening shifts
  • Must not be currently disqualified or barred from federal employment
  • Compliance with safety and health protocols

  • Evidence of training or experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • Experience in housekeeping or custodial work
  • Ability to follow directions and work reliably
  • Skill in handling weights and loads

Job Duties

  • Perform a full range of light and heavy cleaning duties
  • Clean wards, patient rooms, storerooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and shower rooms
  • Sweep, mop, scrub floors manually and with machines
  • Vacuum carpets and upholstered furniture
  • Empty waste baskets and discard trash
  • Clean light globes, Venetian blinds, walls, windows, and ceilings
  • Refill toilet tissue and towel dispensers
  • Move furniture as needed
  • Address spills promptly
  • Install and replace light bulbs
  • Carry out assignments with minimal supervision
