Job Requirements

  • No formal education requirement
  • Experience or training sufficient to perform the job duties
  • Ability to handle physical effort including walking, stooping, kneeling, pulling, and pushing
  • Capability to operate heavy powered cleaning equipment
  • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions
  • Use of personal protective equipment when required
  • Compliance with safety standards to prevent injury

  • Demonstrated ability to perform janitorial and custodial duties
  • Experience in using powered cleaning equipment
  • Knowledge of safety protocols in cleaning environments

Job Duties

  • Perform janitorial and custodial services throughout the VA Medical Center
  • Use and maintain cleaning equipment including wall washers and industrial buffers
  • Adhere to safety protocols when handling hazardous materials and heavy equipment
  • Follow detailed cleaning instructions and maintain high standards of sanitation
  • Report maintenance needs and potential safety hazards
  • Utilize personal protective equipment as required
  • Support the Housekeeping Supervisor in daily operational tasks
