Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- able to read and write up to a ninth grade level
- able to speak English
- six months experience preferred
- ability to perform physical tasks related to cleaning
- ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
- availability to respond to emergency calls if required
- willingness to work flexible hours as needed

Job Duties
- Sweeps and mops hospital floors in keeping with policies and procedures
- posts warning signs if conditions are dangerous
- cleans patient rooms, bathrooms, and offices in accordance with policies
- stocks areas with soap, paper towels, and other necessary supplies
- performs proper waste disposal adhering to handling techniques
- rotates linens regularly or as requested
- cleans and makes beds and stretchers upon patient discharges
- cleans wheelchairs and other equipment such as trashcans and IV pumps as needed
- vacuums assigned areas daily
- hangs shower curtains as necessary
- assists in proper care of equipment and reports malfunctions
- ensures proper sanitation methods for a safe environment
- ensures proper handling and disposal of chemicals and hazardous wastes
- observes waste disposal procedures
- performs spill clean up including hazardous materials
- maintains supplies and equipment economically
- performs room inspections and reports maintenance needs
- follows customer service communication requirements
- responds to emergency cleaning needs
