Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
- 1-2 years of experience in housekeeping preferred
- ability to operate small electrical equipment
- excellent customer service skills
- effective communication skills in English including reading and understanding chemical labels and safety materials
- physical ability to walk, stand, bend, climb, and lift up to 35 pounds
- adherence to attendance and punctuality policies
- availability to work 2nd shift (3:00 PM to 11:30 PM), alternating weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
- 1-2 years of housekeeping experience preferred
- basic computer skills preferred
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to communicate effectively in English including comprehension of safety materials
- ability to operate small electrical equipment such as vacuum cleaners
Job Duties
- Scrub, strip, polish, and refinish floors using appropriate equipment and supplies
- operate various types of cleaning equipment such as ringers, vacuums, electric floor machines, and sweepers
- clean or sanitize after emergency spills
- maintain hard surface floors and carpets following department processes
- timely completion of all job assignments
- use and maintain equipment in good repair
- dispose of waste including hazardous and medical waste according to hospital processes
- replace and transport sharps containers
- collect soiled linen
- remove and dispose of rubbish safely
- separate regular and recycle trash according to procedure
- operate waste compactors safely and efficiently
- clean and sanitize all garbage and waste disposal containers
- demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction with courteous and pleasant attitude
- arrange and relocate furniture for meetings and community affairs
- complete terminal cleans and cross-trained cleaning in discharge rooms and operating rooms
- attend mandatory meetings and trainings
- maintain proper attendance and punctuality according to hospital policy
