Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Ability to operate small electrical equipment such as vacuum cleaners
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English including reading and comprehending chemical labels and safety materials
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance
  • Willingness to follow hospital attendance and punctuality policies
  • Ability to work standing, walking, bending, climbing and lifting throughout the shift

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas by washing walls, doors, ceilings, furniture, floors, and equipment with appropriate cleaning solutions
  • Operate cleaning equipment following department procedures
  • Use chemicals and solutions according to department policy
  • Keep work areas orderly, clean, and safe
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction by utilizing AIDET and maintaining positive interpersonal relationships
  • Thoroughly wash and sanitize beds and patient rooms after discharges
  • Replenish supplies such as paper towels and soap
  • Collect and sanitize waste and recycling materials
  • Apply infection control and safety protocols
  • Prepare detergents and germicidal solutions according to established formulas
  • Move and arrange furniture and equipment as needed
  • Report equipment needing repair and safety hazards to supervisors
  • Attend all mandatory meetings and complete required training
  • Maintain proper attendance and punctuality as per hospital guidelines
