Job Requirements

Ongoing ability to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs
Frequent communication and understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues
Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment including computer, phone, and cable set-up
Physical ability to lift, transport, push, and pull equipment and supplies including heavy items
Availability to work day, evening, graveyard, and weekend shifts
Ability to work independently following safety and infection control standards

Job Qualifications

Demonstrated communication skills including differentiating color-coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions
Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience preferred

Job Duties

Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
Follow all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
