Job Requirements
- Ongoing ability to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs
- Frequent communication and understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment including computer, phone, and cable set-up
- Physical ability to lift, transport, push, and pull equipment and supplies including heavy items
- Availability to work day, evening, graveyard, and weekend shifts
- Ability to work independently following safety and infection control standards
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication skills including differentiating color-coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
- Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience preferred
Job Duties
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
- Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
- Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
- Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
- Follow all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
