Job Requirements

  • Ongoing ability to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and assess customer needs
  • Frequent communication and understanding of spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment including computer, phone, and cable set-up
  • Physical ability to lift, transport, push, and pull equipment and supplies including heavy items
  • Availability to work day, evening, graveyard, and weekend shifts
  • Ability to work independently following safety and infection control standards

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated communication skills including differentiating color-coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
  • Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
  • Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
  • Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
  • Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
  • Follow all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
