Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- ability to work independently during night shift hours
- physical ability to lift, bend, and perform manual tasks
- ability to communicate effectively
- flexibility to work weekends
- knowledge of safety and infection control procedures
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication skills including differentiating color-coded labels and chemicals
- ability to work a flexible schedule to meet department needs
- demonstrated professional housekeeping experience
- understanding of proper cleaning and disinfection protocols
- basic knowledge of OSHA and Joint Commission safety standards
Job Duties
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
- use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
- understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
- handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline and safety standards
- follow all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning protocols and PPE use
- maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
