Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ability to work rotating night shifts including weekends
- knowledge of OSHA and Joint Commission cleaning standards
- physical ability to lift and maneuver equipment and supplies
- attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- ability to work independently and communicate effectively
- adherence to infection prevention and safety protocols
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions
- ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
- demonstrated professional housekeeping experience (preferred)
Job Duties
- Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
- use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
- understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
- handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
- follow all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment
- maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
