Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to work rotating night shifts including weekends
  • knowledge of OSHA and Joint Commission cleaning standards
  • physical ability to lift and maneuver equipment and supplies
  • attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • adherence to infection prevention and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated communication skills to include differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals as well as following written and/or verbal directions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet the needs of the department
  • demonstrated professional housekeeping experience (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
  • use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
  • understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
  • handle and clean up emergency spills per department guideline, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
  • follow all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols and process, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of personal protective equipment
  • maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
