Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous housekeeping or janitorial experience preferred
  • ability to work Tuesday through Saturday, 10pm to 6:30am
  • ability to lift, bend, and move equipment and supplies safely
  • understanding of infection control and safety procedures
  • effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated communication skills including differentiating color-coded labels and chemicals
  • ability to follow written and verbal directions
  • ability to work a flexible schedule when needed
  • demonstrated professional housekeeping experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures
  • use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards
  • understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash
  • handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines, Joint Commission, and OSHA standards
  • follow all infection prevention practices including proper cleaning and disinfection protocols, hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions, and proper donning and doffing of Personal Protective Equipment
  • maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety
