Job Requirements
- Strong communication skills including ability to read, write, and speak English
- Basic computer skills
- Can distinguish differences between levels of disinfection
- Ability to perform low and intermediate level disinfection
- Knowledge and skills in using power cleaning equipment
- Ability to operate necessary equipment and machines
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Physical ability to exert up to 50lbs occasionally, up to 20lbs frequently, and up to 10lbs constantly
- Respectful listening and open communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Strong communication skills including ability to read, write, and speak English
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of low and intermediate level disinfection procedures
- Ability to explain disinfection levels orally or in writing
- Skilled in operating power equipment, high-speed floor machines, carpet cleaners, vacuum equipment, and push sweepers
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to listen and communicate openly and respectfully
Job Duties
- Complete daily occupied and discharge/transfer cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, equipment, and common areas
- Demonstrate working knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfecting principles
- Use chemicals and equipment safely following healthcare environment standards
- Adhere to organizational safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines
- Perform tasks as needed including conference room setup, stairwell and elevator cleaning, and hanging cubicle curtains
- Mentor new Environmental Services Tech I employees
- Collaborate with patient care team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
